Actor Paul Newman's passing

I learned a few things about Paul Newman this last week when he passed away. He seems to be a wonderful man who did a lot for children who were very ill. Check out the following video and information about him. It might make you want to go buy some Newman's Own salad dressing.

Stake Conference

Who knew that stake conference could be so intense. Usually just go and see if you can sit the entire two hours right? No. Elder Dale G. Renlund was pretty funny. After all the talks Saturday night, he got up and said that he is supposed to correct any necessary things. He went on to chastise one speaker who said that she did not have anything significant to say about reading the scriptures. She gave a touching talk about reading scriptures the night the child was born so that their children never would be able to remember a time that they did not remember the Book of Mormon. It was a ver lovely talk and very touching. I had thought that she was wrong about not havfing any thinhg to say. Elder Renlund said that it was a down right lie.

Sister Renlund told about thier visit to Adam-ondi-ahman in July when it was so hot and humid. Visitors there asked the Renlunds why the area was so special. Elder Renlund later in the meeting said that Sister R had leaned over to him and said she knew why Adam and Eve were naked. Elder R said it rather took his mind off the question.

The culminating point was Sunday right after the rest hymn when a borther from the choir was asked to bear his testimony and I got to bear mine right after that. I never remember having such a hard time staying on my feet to walk up to the pulpit. Then of course I bawled while I tried to bear my testimony. It is disappointing to be so emotional every time. Too bad it couldn't have been different.
